When I visited the Alhambra in early May, there was a little cart/kiosk renting the audio guides just before you lined up for the nighttime visit to the Nasrid Palaces. I don't remember whether it was in exactly the same place for the daytime visit, but I imagine it was. If you remember to look for it, you'll definitely see it.
